If you’ve been here before, you’ll probably have already noticed that things look a little different. Actually, that’s probably underselling it — we’ve pretty much started again. The Quality Streamers website has been completely rebuilt with a new look, new content and a much clearer idea of what we want the site to be going forward.
Quality Streamers has been around for a while, but the old website had reached the point where it simply wasn’t doing what we wanted it to anymore. Rather than endlessly changing bits, adding things and trying to make an older site fit what we wanted to do today, it made much more sense to start fresh. So that’s exactly what we’ve done.
The idea behind Quality Streamers itself hasn’t changed. We want to create genuinely useful things for streamers and content creators, produce work to a standard we’re proud of and help people improve what they’re doing. We’re not interested in whether someone has five viewers or five thousand. Everyone starts somewhere, and having a smaller audience doesn’t mean you care any less about the quality of your stream, your branding or the community you’re trying to build.
The new website gives us a much better foundation to build on. Alongside the products and resources you’d expect to find, we’re working on tools specifically designed for streamers, including things that can be used on your own website and as part of your stream. Some of these have come from things we’ve wanted ourselves, while others come from those little annoyances you encounter when streaming and think, surely somebody could make something to do this better? That’s exactly the sort of thing we want to explore.
We also want Quality Streamers to be somewhere that listens to the people actually using it. If you’ve got an idea for something you’d like to see us make, a feature you think would be useful, or you’ve spotted something we could improve, tell us. We can’t promise we’ll build absolutely everything suggested — we’d probably never sleep again — but we’d much rather create things streamers genuinely want than sit here guessing.
Quality is obviously important to us; we did put it in the bloody name after all. That doesn’t mean we’re going to pretend everything will always be perfect. Things occasionally go wrong, bugs somehow survive despite being hunted down repeatedly, and sometimes an idea that sounded brilliant at 2am turns out to be considerably less brilliant the following morning. What matters to us is putting the effort in, caring about what we produce and fixing things when they need fixed.
Most importantly, this new website isn’t supposed to represent a finished Quality Streamers. It’s a new starting point. There are already more ideas being worked on, more features planned and plenty we want to add as the site grows. Some things will probably change along the way as we figure out what works, what people actually use and what turns out to be completely pointless.
So, welcome to the new Quality Streamers website. Have a look around, try things out and feel free to tell us what you think. This is only the beginning, and we’re looking forward to seeing where we can take it.
